111.1

Yes. I've decided to tell the world.

Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong
This is my favorite epigram - which applies in situations where I hope it won't.

This, compared to the title, is 500% optimistic.111.12 is nothing but the number I dread -  7½.

Actually, anything with a "half" part in it would do, but the worst number is 7½. All sorts of crazy things happen to me when there is anything with a 7½.

For example, if I boot my computer at 7 : 30 (AM or PM. The number is enough.), it won't boot or there will be a power cut. If I correct someone's test paper (physics or biology or any class test), they get 7½ irrespective of whether the test is for 10 or 20 marks. Majority scored 7½ in the most recent English composition - I read the marks to ma'am.

Even though I am agnostic and I don't believe in superstitions (gave up my predictions on a good class/ bad class), this really makes me think - if I should "delve deeply" and experiment with it or I should "fear" a mere number.

Agnosticism and Linkin Park Rock!

A Wednesday...

Today is the first time I call Wednesday "good" because :
  1. Sanskrit Period Free
  2. Good time talking in the class..
  3. I have a small hope of getting a new device with a "mystery feature"
  4. I am still alive typing in this blog after 4xLOD
Wow.. Can't recollect any funny thing today except the 2nd anniversary celebrations.....

Thought : Be happy if you meet someone as confused as you.

Two 'Eyes' and One 'Tea' = SUPER CONFUSION

In case you don't know, this is the most awesome Indian college - IIT..

The dream college of all(Hmm.. a person I know has a very different ambition! So I won't say all) most - IIT was the topic of discussion today...

For the first time, I had a discussion with my friends (after school) about why we should go to coaching classes just to clear an entrance exam.... As mentioned by Arjun perfectly - Indian Institute of Tension - more frequently called IIT sets its entrance exam so tough that only the most brilliant of all can actually clear the exam with flying colours and the rest have to keep hoping that they would not be left out because of the 50% Quota or something....

Coming back to the discussion we had, the first question was : Why can't we study by ourselves? Why should we go to the infamous institutions like FIITJEE or SMART or Brilliant Tutorials, pay a lot knowing that you can't be sure about clearing the entrance exam?

I got "inspired" and actually, it is definitely valid asking this question. Why not have faith in yourself, work hard and succeed? It sounded absolutely like a "Personal Development" lecture despite the fact that I knew I was telling... How could I get so serious?

Asking the same question to my friend, we both came to the entrance gate of our school... Unfortunately, the day wasn't so lucky I suppose... There was another conversation which started exactly the same thing once we went there. Left with no other choice, I and my friend heard the usual parents' version of "Which IIT coaching class is better?" staring at each other helplessly..

OMG. Lots.Of.HW.To.Do. I better sleep rather than complete the HW

Moral : Even if you think you are serious or you are actually serious, you are YOU. Unfortunately, this time it is going to be a real for-your-good moral :( ...  "Never lose your seriousness once you are serious about studies since you aren't used to be serious about it very frequently"...

(K)Night and Day

It's been one hell of a weekend for me... Well, I wouldn't call it a weekend at all!

The newest equation I learnt was :
Sleepless Friday Night + Saturday Full Day School + Powerpoint = REAL MADNESS

Sitting in front of the computer is all through the day and night is what I've wanted and I never thought I would end up doing all sorts of crazy stuff (presentation) instead of Gaming...

Have no more time to spare.

PS : Knight and Day was a good film

Surprisingly, neither mom nor dad came this time!

Rain Rain Come Again Take Away My Wednesday!

"A day designated as having special significance for which individuals, a government, or a religious group have deemed that observation is warranted. It is generally an official (more common) or unofficial observance of religious, national, or cultural significance, often accompanied by celebrations or festivities."

Seriously, I don't know how rain ceases immediately after we get a message from Yokibu (2 hours after you know it is a holiday - thanks to the people keeping their eyes glued on the TV waiting eagerly for good news) saying that "Sri Sankara: LKG-XII - 7.12.10 - govt. declared holioday"... Well.. Monday was a special case....

If you are wondering what the first quotation is about, it is the dictionary definition for "Holiday" and I don't see any religious or national or cultural significance accompanied by celebrations in today....

A 4-day weekend wasn't a bad one but I hope tomorrow is a holiday too! - 2 SANSKRIT PERIODS!!!!

My schedule for yesterday and today :

  1. Wake up at 8 AM
  2. Do all routine stuff (brushing teeth etc.)
  3. Sit in front of the computer
  4. Get reminded that you need food for existence.. So, eat food in front of the computer around 10 AM
  5. Realize that lunch is meant to be eaten in the afternoon.. So eat lunch around 3 PM in front of the computer again
  6. Eat dinner watching a random part of a random movie in the computer around 8 PM
  7. Wait till mom's temper reaches the highest point asking me to shut down the computer and go to sleep.
  8. Sadly, go to sleep after a really good 14-hour computer session which consists of chatting, gaming and doing all sorts of vetti stuff..

Oh my god.. Close shave... Mom nearly started reading my so-called "schedule"..

Moral : Never Blog when you could end up getting thrashed because someone saw something they shouldn't be seeing :D

The Plight Of A Cake..

Just returned from KK Anand Sir's IIT Classes.. It was one of the usual classes - a good mix of fun and little serious stuff.. And yeah.. I can't forget Akshay's treat :D Akshay, Arjun, Myself and Deepak went straight to the shop in the break and we all enjoyed a Coca Cola and some random junk packets.. And yeah, the Vanilla cake stuck to our fingers just like a normal magnetic material would stick to a magnet :D (well.. maybe our fingers took it.. I couldn't find out what happened because it was faster than light! :D)

First it was arranged in pieces.. The second it was opened, what was left was a clean shining lunch box with no trace of lunch being brought in the past!

Then, some people came and asked us to tie rakhis (no, not Rakhi Sawant - the first word we heard when those guys said "Rakhi") to our neighbours irrespective of our gender.. That was a really strange thing...

Lesson To Learn : Sometimes, Hyperboles are cool! Hmm.. no.. Vanilla Cakes rule! :D and, boys, don't be afraid of rakhis anymore :D :D :D

From Confusion To Mythology.. A Loong Day!

I was driving some shiny black car chasing a truck at nearly 90 mph. Some guy was hanging from the edge of the truck. I was speeding and - "FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, WILL YOU GET UP ??".. That adventurous dream came to an end, and I woke up with a start.. "Come on you have to come to school.. Get ready!" said my dad and I lazily came out of my bed wishing that it was just a bad dream.. Then I realized.. today is Saturday! and my immediate question was answered.. Decision about "SA2"... Duh! For an hour or so, the prudential discussion went on and my parents left. I didn't bother to go..

After they left, I took the iPad with full battery!(how can it be fully charged when I am there!!). So, I started reading PJ : Lightning Thief after the fresh bath.. It went till 5 PM.. Totally, I read 6 books in the iPad draining the battery to a mere 18% from 100%.. I should say, it has a really efficient way of power consumption... 3 Percy Jacksons, A Robin Cook, one Archer and a Stephen Hawkings wasn't bad for one day.. I had to make up for my lost golden days of reading!

Then, I booted the PC which eventually led to a real argument about if I was fair on my part - 8-9 hours of staring at the screen was supposed to be bad for me :D.. After half an hour, I left to my favourite class and returned at 10 PM..

Then, sleep again!

Moral Of The Day : Never argue with your parents, even if your point is completely perfect and valid from your POV, they can make it sound like it is a worthless one..

Finally, A Different Teacher's Day! - Or 2 hours of cricketing fun!

Today was one of the most memorable days...

I entered school to find everyone busily soldering their EG Projects, some singing, some questioning me if I had finished the English Workbook! After finishing the daily routine (copying homework, well, you know!), we faced the Chemistry Seminar.. Then the ever-lengthy language hour added a load of miseries to me, English was quite normal.

None of us expected a so "Satisfied Look" on Girija mam's face.. She quietly gave us our papers and as usual, the very unusual stillness and silence sent chills through the spine.. I finally got my paper and we listened to Girija mam's comments.. It was one of the most funniest ones.. Never mind about "what" she said.. :D

Till 11:59, we checked our EG projects. Most of them were still struggling their "Fire Alarm". After the bell, we had an announcement that EG models need not be submitted today - and that's it! The roof was brought down and the usual silence came the moment I began shouting..

We prepared for the UN Test (Honestly, that was never a test :D) - not reading, but other arrangements.. :D
After that 1 hour of the open-book test, I went down and joined the people who were "practicing".. After chatting with Subbu and Arjun (Ram), I left to the class and joined the cricket match.. Hell a lot of fun!

The effects of seeing LOD occured - the taped cricket ball (paper) hit my right eye.. The other team hit 160 or something in 10 overs.. I was certain that scoring anywhere near that was totally impossible until Arjun (KG) and Karthik started their game.. 26 balls - 100+ runs! Of course, the silly arguments found their place in. They both were "forced" to retire for then, and then, the match progressed. I wouldn't say it was as entertaining as the first partnership! Then, the tense moments approached - 3 overs left, 31 runs required. It reduced to 31 runs in 2 overs - A maiden over by Lakshmi Narayanan! Then, Karthik won the match for us!

The second match was even interesting! We scored 178 in 8 overs and unfortunately, the match ended when the opponents finished batting 4 overs.. We won by Run rate method (who said we can't invent our own? D/L sucks..).

After that energy-packed match, I and Arjun left down talking.

There is some stupidity of me missing... It was the EG Project.. It was left in X A and I went up to pick it and came back down :D

Moral Of The Day : Don't try to have fun as "you" wish.. It always exists and it will come in it's own way.. So, recognize that!

(FREEZES.. relaxes...) Sometimes, it is never good to blog when you're parents are around :D Some things are "revealed"

Things Not To Do Before Sleeping

  1. Wondering about tomorrow's submissions
  2. Seeing the Exam Time Table and ranting about it
  3. Wondering about the portions of each subject
  4. Facebook
  5. Seeing any movie that excites you
  6. Chatting with your friends
  7. Listening to "Live"ly songs
  8. Blogging
  9. Seeing computer
  10. Arguing with parents (I can guarantee a miserable time during exam nights)
What do you think will happen if you  do all these?

You will end up sleeping just like I will be in in half an hour..

Good Night!

Moral : Never Obey Advices.. Analyze every aspect of it and go to sleep while doing that.... zzzzz

How Worse Can It Become?

I thought it was yet another festival day when I could wake up at 9:00 AM, gobble up something and enter the eternal Cyber World!

As Usual, I was wrong :D.. I woke up at 6!! Curse a bad dream.... and went straight to the computer after the daily routine... After hours on the comp (supposed to be a starvation period.. effects of computer you see :D), I finally got to eat the traditional food!

The moment I finished eating and returned to the computer, the first "accident" happened.. NCO was supposed to be held on 1st Sept.. So, I called Suddhu expecting a response like "I don't know! Really?".. After it was cleared, the second "accident" happened.. I was dragged to Nalli for deciding on some saree or something.... I then realized that I held the gadget - the Eternal One! which could let me pass time - the Mobile Phone! I then sent "Happy Gokulashtami" to everyone and killed time.... Finally, after hours of decision (truthfully speaking, 20 mins :P) I returned home.

Again, I booted up the computer.. Everything went smoothly and I logged in.. POOF! Power gone... With iPad as the last resort, I hopefully went to the bed room and found out that my father was calmly reading some novel...

After some 10-15 minutes of idle walking here and there and a fortunately failed attempt to break the mirror with my basketball, the first sign of hope occured - A text message! Eagerly, I opened the message from Deepak.. It said : "RC20 Talktime Free Recharge for Vodafone users ......." After the usual "Ivana thiruthave mudiyadhu" dialogue, it looked like there was a potential difference between the EB and the "House Wiring System".. I booted on the computer with all hope of returning back to the Eternal Cyber World..

And that was the end of the day.....

Moral : Even if you are bored to death, never do something productive because, Idleness is the root of EVIL!
